Annual Award of Excellence

The Saskatoon Board of Education’s Award of Excellence is the highest honour granted by the board. This prestigious award, including a cash award of $5,000, is presented annually to the most outstanding Grade 12 graduate from Saskatoon Public Schools in the previous school year.

Collegiate administrators nominate their top student based on excellence in academics, character, leadership and engagement. All nominees receive a $500 cheque in acknowledgement of their accomplishments. The selection committee identifies the award recipient from this pool of nominees.

The 2024 Award of Excellence recipient will be announced at the April 15, 2025 board meeting. Congratulations to all our outstanding 2024 nominees!

Selection Process

  1. The nominees are chosen by the principal and staff of the school.
  2. The selection committee is established by the Director of Education and consists of five members including the Director of Education or his/her designate, one member from Administrative Council, one Trustee, and two others named by the Director.
  3. The final selection is made after all final marks have been obtained.
